Helping a new interchange project make headlines.

After completing part of a $93 million infrastructure project, Cullinan and partners were ready to reveal Illinois' new interchange at I-55 and IL 59. To successfully position the project on local, state and federal radars, our LCPR team coordinated a high-visibility grand opening event designed to make media headlines.

Shaping success with strategic storytelling.

Celebrating the interchange meant developing a story around enhanced safety and premier access–specifically to Joliet and the super-regional, 310+ acre Rock Run Collection.

Our key messaging strategy not only positioned the project as a major force of regional economic opportunity, but it commended stakeholders involved in the process–from construction leaders to government officials.

Gearing up for grand opening.

The grand opening event needed to run seamlessly, but it also needed to attract the attention of media and key government personnel. To ensure necessary attendance, our team crafted clear messaging and coordinated closely with the Illinois Department of Transportation, media contacts and federal, state and local officials.

Additionally, shifting construction deadlines required our team to be agile planners. Keeping the event on track required proactive collaboration, from day-of planning to partner coordination.

Cullinan Properties Social Engagement

Award-winning results.

Leading all aspects of the grand opening included being onsite for the event, where we managed vendors, helped prepare speakers and coordinated media. With standout attendance from top Chicago media organizations and 12 government officials, the celebration received coverage from major outlets, generated over 21 million media impressions and received awards from the Public Relations Society of America's Chicago Chapter.
