Holiday Card Parody of “12 Days of Moving” Hits Home for Anyone Who Has Moved

Midwest agency moving offices after nearly 50 years in one place makes for hilarious holiday greeting

CHICAGO (Dec. 19, 2024) – After nearly 50 years in one building, Midwest’s independent, full-service brand experiences agency Laughlin Constable is moving one of its offices and couldn’t pass up the opportunity this holiday season to take its clients and associates along for the ride. The agency’s holiday video parody is a play on the 12 Days of Christmas, taking viewers into its hilarious history of clients, campaign remnants, quirky PR promos and more. The card is being shared with agency clients and friends this week and can be viewed at Laughlin.com.

“Have you ever moved after decades in one house, maybe yours or your parents?” asked Pat Laughlin, co-chief creative officer at Laughlin Constable. “It’s not too different when you are moving offices. With the timing aligning perfectly, we decided to use our holiday greeting to take folks into the ‘dreaded basement and attic’ for some laughs.”

Laughlin Constable, with offices in Chicago and Milwaukee, was founded in Milwaukee in 1976 and shortly after opened its doors in Milwaukee’s historically significant Mitchell Building, which was built in 1876. The building was Laughlin’s home for decades and went through many agency iterations from 80s brown to agency industrial. In early 2025, Laughlin’s Milwaukee office will be moving on up the street to the 22nd floor of The River Center, 111 E. Kilbourn Avenue.

The holiday card parody highlights the features of the unique building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, and how all its nooks and crannies have housed items long forgotten and some pretty cool agency mementos. Some of the 12 highlighted holiday gifts found include a beheaded agency icon of a mythical Griffin; some great ads featuring Miller beer and OshKosh B‘gosh; a very-dated agency letter jacket; some great ideas that never aired; and, decades of agency swag.

“We’re excited for our move and to head into our agency’s next 50 years in new space fitting for our very collaborative hybrid environment, but I am so glad we could do a fun nod to all our history, too,” said Jon Laughlin, co-chief creative officer at the agency. He and his brother Pat lead all creative for the independently owned Laughlin Constable, which their father Steve Laughlin originally co-founded.

The holiday video was produced by Laughlin Constable’s production company HIVE Content Studio
