It’s Been a Year

A look back at 2018

Ahhh 2018, you sure were something. A crazy, inspiring, all-around good something. Over the last 12 months we gave insurance a fresh dose of humanity with Acuity, encouraged beer lovers to spread their wings with Yuengling, celebrated 50 years of pride (and a sweet new stadium) with the Milwaukee Bucks, and invited the entire Midwest to join in the fun of Gemutlichkeit (pronounced guh-MYOOT-lik-KYT) with Wisconsin Tourism. We granted a young man's wish to visit outer space. And to top it off, there’s an amazing new CCO leading our creative team from Now to Next.

But enough talking about our accomplishments. Let’s get to the fun part: showing them.

Hold on to Your Hats

Say Hello to Our New CCO

Lisa Bennett is LC's shiny new Chief Creative Officer. She comes to us with some impressive agency chops, having held top creative positions at DDB Worldwide, TM Advertising, and Leo Burnett. Not to mention she’s been recognized at every major awards show including Cannes Lions, D&AD, OneShow and Clio Awards. Lisa has worked her creative magic on some pretty cool brands too – McDonald’s, Heinz, Delta Airlines, Clorox, ESPN, Yahoo and Universal Studios – to name a few. To help you get to know her a little better, we asked her a few questions.

What at LC are you most excited about?
Working with a new group of talented and incredibly nice people on a whole new set of exciting brands.

What’s your favorite thing about Chicago?
Chicago is a city with soul. It’s vibrant, moody, deep, diverse, and has so much to offer — awesome neighborhoods, amazing restaurants, and interesting people from all walks of life. I’ve been away for 15 years and it still feels like home.

Milwaukee?
Milwaukee, where have you been all my life? I was introduced to this city for the first time a few months ago thanks to LC and I love it. It’s charming, friendly, full of culture and has really good beer. I like beer.

What goals do you have for the creative team?
I believe the creative team at LC is capable of great things. My goal is to help elevate the creative product across all of our clients so that LC becomes the hottest, most talked about agency in the Midwest.

What can our clients expect from you?
A true creative partner that cares about their business as much as they do. One committed to big ideas that separate them from the competition, grow their businesses and make their brands famous.

What were you known for as a child?
Persistence. I was one of those kids who never gave up.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve eaten?
Octopus eyeballs. They were in a soup. It was in Guangzhuo, China. I was 18. I still can’t look an octopus in the eye.

What’s something we’d be surprised to know about you?
I once played Spin the Bottle with Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

Best advice you've ever received?
Treat people with respect—they may actually know more than you. Never give up—there is always another way. Take risks, be true to yourself and most of all, have fun.

Griffins in Space

For its second year, LC Gives Back went above and beyond. Literally. We partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant a wish for John, a 16-year-old with big dreams of becoming an astronaut. After months of fundraising and hard work, we were able to surprise John and his family with a trip to the Kennedy Space Center. And what astronaut doesn’t love a space-themed party?

Now, we know what you’re thinking. Will LC be able to top all this in 2019?

Just watch us.
